About

The 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore for their efforts to generate and disseminate knowledge about the climate challenge. Al Gore had already made a name for himself with the Oscar winner “An Inconvenient Truth” from 2006. The Nobel Committee described Gore as the individual who had probably created the most understanding for slowing down man-made climate change. Gore was Vice President of the USA under Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001. Based on current sea level projections, Gore's footprint will end up underwater.
